Bacon slices are cut from the belly of the pig. They consist of alternating layers of fat and meat, which provides a rich, full flavor and a crispy result when fried.

1. Seasoning and searing
Season with salt, pepper and possibly ketjap, garlic or chili flakes. Let the meat soak for fifteen minutes at room temperature. Fry on medium heat in a pan without a lid until the bacon side is crispy.

2. Yarn
Bake for 10-15 minutes, turning regularly for even cooking.

3. Serving
Combine with nasi or bami, or serve with mashed potatoes. Add atjar or fresh cucumber for contrast.
